Kashmiri Food

Today I had a wonderful dinner at Pawan's house to celebrate his birthday. We had a great discussion with Kaul uncle (Archana's dad) about religion and humanity and talked a lot about its genesis and the how religion percolates into the life of one and all. This great discussion was topped with some excellent Kashmiri food. The taste of the "dum aloo" is still lingering on my lips and my fingers :-). We had rice, "dum aloo", saag, paneer. All of these dishes were real authentic in taste.
Now that set me thinking, how diverse the entire world is wherein different regions, even within the same country have such different palates. This diversity in food is not limited to only one country, but is present all over the world. Each region has its own nuances in the way food is made and relished. No wonder I love watching the Food Network especially Bobby Flay (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_Flay).
By the way, the only authentic dish that I missed in tonight's dinner was the lotus stem, which I must add is a delicacy.

Hmm...

As I sit on my couch, deep in my musings, one question keeps popping into my mind. Where is home? Give the growth potential and the excitement of growing economy, I wonder if that is what my calling is? I am a global citizen and considering the fact that I am well traveled (visited all continents, worked in four of them), I am in contemplation.
There is no right answer...that's what I tell myself and so do my friends. But I am still wonder. Is it the classic "grass is green on the other side", or is it just plain "time for change"?
Home is where the heart is, so goes the age old adage, but isn't the heart where the home is? What should a global citizen say? I wonder....
